Multiplex PCR Assays and Reagents for Pathogen Detection
BlazedX brings specialized tools, including multiplex PCR assays, for laboratory use in pathogen detection and surveillance. Choose from large multiplex PCR assays (up to 32 targets) or easy to validate small multiplex PCR assays (4-5 targets). All assays feature built-in quality controls and are manufactured in the United States.
Your assays reflect the lab you run. Large multiplex assays feature 8-32 targets and are excellent when target breadth is required, or as reflex assays. Small multiplex assays are ideal for customization or to overcome compensation barriers. Many labs will use a mix of both large and small multiplex assays.

BlazedX provides highly qualified personnel, experienced in PCR assay design, automation, and implementation for assistance in your lab
All BlazedX assays can be customized with additional pathogen targets (minimum purchase required). Additionally, they can be modified to reduce shipping costs, improve stability, use different fluorescent dyes, etc.
What are multiplex panels and how do they work?
Multiplex panels are tools that detect multiple pathogens in a single PCR well. Each BlazedX panel includes primers and probes for several targets, increasing efficiency, decreasing the amount of overall required sample, and reducing cost.
Can I customize a multiplex panel for specific pathogens?
Yes. BlazedX offers fully customizable panels to meet your lab’s unique needs, including emerging pathogens or region-specific targets.
What instruments are BlazedX panels compatible with?
Our multiplex PCR panels are compatible with Bio-Rad and ABI qPCR systems. You choose.
What’s the turnaround time for orders?
Most standard orders are shipped within 24 hours using overnight delivery. Emergency reserves are also available upon request.
How long does it take to customize a panel?
In general it will take 4-6 weeks, but this can be faster in some cases (e.g. switching fluorescent dyes).
What’s the difference between Large and Small panels?
Large panels detect up to 34 targets and are ideal for broad screening and reflex testing. Small panels focus on 4–5 pathogens and are easier to validate.
A multiplex assay is a molecular tool that detects multiple pathogen targets in a single polymerase chain reaction (PCR). These assay can increase lab throughput, reduce materials costs, and reduce hands-on technician time compared to traditional singleplex PCR reactions.
